This Never Happened, an Unsound favourite, continues to sponsor incredible established and up-and-coming talent with consistently high quality releases.

The album cover for Something, Everything
Sultan + Shepard have had a rollercoaster of a career to date, having written for the likes of EDM titans David Guetta and Dillon Francis. Their release on Lane 8’s This Never Happened label shows a more vulnerable side to their songwriting and production.
What are my thoughts?
Like much of This Never Happened’s other releases, this record takes you on an audible journey. One can’t help but feel melancholic listening to this album, as though Sultan + Shepard had been through a loss or trialing time in their lives.
It shows a deeply vulnerable and emotional side to their songwriting, encapsulated in particular in tracks like Safta or the titular Something, Everything.
This has to be one of my favourite releases on the label and indeed has now made me a bigger Sultan + Shepard fan than I had originally thought.

What do the critics say?
Dancing Astronaut called the album “Triumphant” and that:
[The album] caps off an astonishing stylistic switch for a group primarily known for progressive house across their expansive career.
EDM Identity said that:
This album puts the aforementioned evolution of their sound and exploration of the melodic realm of house music squarely, and beautifully, on display.
